On 15 February 2019, The Maki Foundation was Hosted by the Dean of Stellenbosch Medical School for a lunch, where the CEO of the Maki Foundation shared the programmes that the Foundation is engaged in to assist high school learners and those who are top achievers that are attending University for the fist time. The Foundation works with High Schools that are based in the Eastern Cape: In the Picture is: Prof. Jimmy Volmink (Dean: Medicine and Health Sciences); Mr Vukani Maki (CEO: Maki Foundation) and Miss Ronel Bester (Strategic Relations Manager - BA, BPhil, MBA). Other Members of Management that attended the lunch are: Prof Julia Blitz (Vice Dean: Learning and Teaching), Prof Nico Gey van Pittius (Vice Dean: Research), Prof M R Moosa (Executive Head: Department of Medicine), Mr Eben Mouton (Senior Director: Business Management), Ms Florence de Vries (Corporate Communication and Brand Coordinator) and Chair & Vice-Chair of the Student Representative Council.
